Baishakhi Mela is haram?

2010
05.25

Well certain fundamental extremist groups based in Tower Hamlets seemed to think so, when they decided to circulate leaflets to the Bangladeshi community in Tower Hamlets ahead of Sundays Baishakhi Mela forbidding them to go as they have got it into their thick heads that its haram!

You lunatics really need to get a life and get a real job instead of spreading hate. Every single one of you are happy to accept state benefits and handouts yet this is not HARAM?

If you hate this country so much why dont you move to Saudi Arabia where you can live at peace instead of creating war amongst communities here!

GET OUT AND STAY OUT, NO ONE WONDER BNP HAVE MORE PEOPLE SUPPORTING THEM. ITS TRASH LIKE YOU THAT GIVE US ASIANS A BAD NAME, BECAUSE ALL WHITE PEOPLE ASSUME ALL ASIANS ARE MUSLIM SO WE ALL GET ABUSE AND ITS YOUR FAULT!!!!!!!!!!

Literature delivered to Bethnal Green homes condemns Mela celebrations
25 May 2010
LEAFLETS condemning people who planned to attend Sunday’s A Baishakhi Mela in Spitalfields and Bethnal Green were pushed through the letterboxes of homes near the event.

The pamphlet, made of two sheets of white A4 paper stapled together, was entitled ‘True Serenity’ and told readers that, as well as alcohol and drugs, music, dancing and free mixing of men and women was forbidden, or haraam.

The memo was delivered to flats in Derbyshire Street, Bethnal Green, near the main Mela site at Weavers’ Fields.

It said: “Free mixing, music, singing and dancing, Mela or festivals all come under this haraam category. One is not allowed to be present there whatsoever.”

It accused Muslims who attended the Mela of “committing disobedience against Allah” and said that people who participates in haraam activities “will have a painful torment in this world and in the hereafter”.

It said: “We can guarantee for those who will, one way or another, participate in this haraam Mela that on that day they may find some deceptive enjoyment and laughter but know for sure they will be weeping in years to come. Some may even regret and weep for eternity.
