Despite the government cuts the annual Bangladeshi Mela is still going ahead in Brick Lane this year! Perhaps it is due to the fact that the Mayor Lutfur Rahman is closely associated with Mr Shitaj Haque….. Yes the millionaire who happens to also live in a housing association property whilst proclaiming his wealth!
This years acts are to include Mumzy Stranger- a Bangladeshi lad from Tower Hamlets who has made it into the mainstream with the help from Richi Rich and also Bangladeshi folk singer Kala Miah, Mumtaz and Baby Nazrin.
Also lined up is Shumi, Keya, Suzanna Ansar and Shorif Uddin and many more…..
There is also expected to be an after party at Clifton in Brick Lane for VIP’s only.
